Starting the Process
The best way for us to get a sense of whether working together might be helpful is to spend some time talking.
For that reason, I usually begin with a three- to four-session consultation period. This gives us time to explore what brings you to therapy, what you hope to gain from it, and what it might feel like for us to work together. It also gives you several opportunities to experience how I listen, think, and talk. Throughout these sessions, we'll check in about how the process is feeling. I'll share my thoughts about the issues you're facing and my recommendations for how we might work on them. And I will ask for your thoughts on how our process is going.
If, by the end of the consultation, we’re both interested in working together, we’ll arrange an ongoing schedule.
Your First Meeting
Psychotherapy sessions are typically 45 minutes. However, for our first meeting, I generally recommend setting aside 90 minutes. People often have a lot they want to talk about when we first meet, and the additional time gives us more room to begin without feeling rushed. A 45-minute first meeting is also available if you prefer.
The first meeting is confirmed once payment is received in advance. Because that time is being reserved specifically for you, advance payment for the initial appointment is not ordinarily refunded in the event of a cancellation.
Locations
I see patients in person in Coral Gables/South Miami and South Beach, and offer online therapy throughout Florida.

Fees
My fee for individual psychotherapy is $350 for each 45-minute session. For couple and family therapy, the fee is $475 per 60-minute session.
Using Your Insurance
I am not part of any health insurance networks. If you have health insurance you’d like to use, your policy may cover psychotherapy with an out-of-network psychologist. You can contact your insurance provider to ask about your “out-of-network benefits.” If you have these benefits, I collect payment in full at the time of each session and provide you with an insurance-friendly bill containing the codes and information your insurance company will need to submit a claim for reimbursement.
FAQ
-
We’ll begin with a brief phone conversation so I can learn a little about what brings you to therapy and explain how I usually begin treatment. We then schedule our first consultation session.

No. You can stop therapy whenever you want. That said, sometimes the wish to stop comes up just as the work is getting closer to something important—and, naturally, becoming more difficult. If you find yourself wanting to stop, I encourage you to tell me so that we can explore that feeling. Talking about what's making youwant to leave can sometimes become an important part of the therapy itself.

Yes. I work with some patients once weekly and others several times per week. How often we meet depends on what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to accomplish, and how intensively we decide to work.
