ABOUT ME

I am Cuban-American, gay, and a Miami native, and I offer therapy in both English and Spanish. My personal background gives me particular familiarity with the ways that social and cultural context can shape a person.

I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Miami and completed my pre-doctoral internship at Pace University Counseling Center in New York City. My postdoctoral fellowship was done at NYU Student Health Center, and then I trained to become a psychoanalyst at the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, & Psychology.

I returned home to Miami from New York City in 2018 and now practice in Coral Gables/South Miami as well as South Beach.

Outside my private practice, I teach at two psychoanalytic institutes—The Florida Psychoanalytic Center in Miami and the William Alanson White Institute in New York City—and supervise mental health professionals interested in deepening their clinical work.

I am also a writer, exploring many of the same questions that interest me as a psychoanalyst: how our relationships and histories shape us, why we become who we become, and how we find our way through the more difficult parts of being human.
